With the digital technologies deepening into the everyday lives of people across the world, the need for day-to-day gadgets and appliances with Internet of Things (IoT) is rising. Hogar India Pvt Ltd steps to meet the demand by starting a new facility in Hyderabad that doubles as manufacturing unit and for Research and Development. The Indian unit of US-based smarthomes and building automation company, Hogar Controls, enters into South Asia. The base in Hyderabad has 10,000 sq ft that will produce fully-automated world-class electronic manufacturing equipments with the annual production target of 6,00,00 units.

Hogar’s home automation series – Smart, Touch, Enviro and Security – will be manufactured at Uppal in Hyderabad the home of industries in India’s 29th state called Telangana.

Vishnu Reddy, the CEO of Hogar India Pvt Ltd, said that there is a need in India and South Asian countries for smart products in houses as the size of family unit has reduced to two numbers and the need for security at homes has increased. He said that the company was looking to ‘clock revenues of over 30 crores in 2020’ and to bring wired and wireless home appliances for the benefit or rising middle class and upper-middle class families in the Indian subcontinent. Vishnu Reddy’s maternal grandfather was known as London Venkat Reddy in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh for ushering social engineering during the British colonial India.

Karan Kumar, the CTO of Hogar Controls said at the launch of the company in India, “We have significantly invested in our R and D and product development effort in the first few years of our operations to ensure our technology and products address current gaps in the automation market. As a result, all our eleven products launched until now are easy for consumers to plug-n-play or retro fit into their homes. We are the only brand in the space to offer products that are compatible with all three leading Z-wave, Zigbee, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and we offer both wired and wireless solutions.”
